Playing a Celtic drum
Many people are of the belief that Celtic Bodhrans were carried into the blessed Isles out of Central Asia by the Celtic migrations which brought their forebearers as far as Ireland. The tiny Irish drum is made of real goat and/or deer rawhide that is stretched over the frame, and oftentimes each drum is hand painted with a Celtic design. Many of the designs come from traditional Celtic artwork, and are inspired by its endlessly intertwined linear patterns. To purchase either a new Celtic frame drum, a bodhran kit, or an unfinished frame, or a tipper, or a goat skin head, visit one of the sites offering them.
