Have you heard how President Bush has decided to life the ban on offshore drilling?  I hope you don’t think it’s anything other than a symbolic gesture.  It’s isn’t going to help with high gas prices.  First of all there isn’t some gigantic reservoir of oil hiding just off the shores of America.  This isn’t Saudia Arabia or the gigantic Oil Sands of Alberta.  In fact, the estimated amount of oil just off the shores of America is actually less than two months worth of gasoline for America’s fleet of vehicles – less than two months?  Still think there’s any point to opening up all of America’s shores to offshore drilling in this time of “going green?”
