Is there a connection between sleep apnea and diabetes?
I am a receptionist in a doctor’s office. When new patients come into the office, I have to have them fill out forms before they can see the doctor. One of the forms is a medical history. They write down any surgeries, diseases, and conditions they have had. I have noticed that many diabetic patients report having sleep apnea as well. Is there a connection between sleep apnea and diabetes? Does one of the conditions lead to having the other? Is it just a coincidence? Are the conditions related in any way?
