Providing Relief From Heartburn With Natural Cures

A natural cure for heartburn can provide relief and the first step is to alter one’s diet.  Any food or drink that increases the acidic content of the stomach should be avoided such as spicy foods, alcoholic and caffeinated drinks, citruses, tomato based dishes, creamy desserts and chocolate.  Bananas, apples, whole grains, adequate water should be considered as they dilute the stomach acids.  The menthol in peppermint tea alleviates symptoms as does apple cider vinegar which can be mixed with honey and distilled water before a meal.  Taken several times a day, snacking on almonds, dried figs and papaya are also helpful in alleviating the pain of heartburn.
