Re-grow Your Fingers

OK, so I know science has done some crazy things, but this might just take the cake. Doctors performed surgery on a man who had lost his finger in an attack while in Iraq. The surgery if successful will be a major breakthrough in regenerative medicine. Researchers have found a component in the bladder of pigs that may help humans to re-grow their missing body parts. This new dust has been coined, "pixie dust," will create a scaffold on the skin which is meant to attract stem cells to the area and convince them into regenerating the missing limb. There was a time when regeneration was only a talent of salamanders and newts, but researchers are saying, if it can be possible for them, why not for humans? My verdict is still up in the air. The approach may be just science fiction and the overzealous hopes of many researchers, but if it works, the procedure will be an unbelievable advancement in the medical field. Researchers have hopes that if this first experiment goes well, the pixie dust will eventually be able to be used to grow back wounded organs in the human body. Now that my friends is science fiction, but hey, I guess it could happen.
