Reviewing Prostate Treatment
Prostate treatment has come a long way in providing options for a man with a prostate disorder. Early detection is vital since prostate disease is commonly found in men forty and older. BPH is a common disorder and if left unchecked can result in renal disease, bladder damage and urinary tract infection. The surgical and non-surgical approach for prostate treatment can only be considered with a well qualified physician. Thermotherapy is considered most commonly for BPH symptoms in its earliest stages. Tissues are blasted with various forms of energy thus allowing a smoother flow of urine. Surgical intervention is the preferred choice if the swelling does not respond to non-invasive treatments, though not without risks. Another surgical treatment is transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP). The individual will require hospitalization for two to three days, restricting his activities for several weeks until healed. Laser surgery allows the individual a one day hospitalization stay and is the most popular.
