Security is a major factor in access relations
When you have important data, or access points in a building you need biometric software that will secure these things with unique voice print patterns that cannot be duplicated. Biometrics security software are found all over the place both in the real world and in movies and science fiction. On star trek when the captain, Mr. Spok and Scotty had to initiate the self destruct sequence of the ship to keep its technology out of the hands of the federations enemies they used a type of biometric software to create a three tiered security encryption algorithm that required all three to speak to allow the system to override the captains command.
