My mother has always been more partial to specific brands than others. She is not the type of person that just picks out whatever is cheapest, no matter what the brand. For example, whenever my mother buys new computer parts, printer parts, etc, she always sticks to HP supplies. Her laptop, desktop computer, printer, scanner, and copier are all HP brands. When my mother finds something that works well for her, she sticks with it until something bad happens with it. If she ever has a bad experience with a brand, she will switch. Otherwise, she sticks with it for life.
